1977 First Reliant Stevens Sienna built at the factory SOLD

Although it is listed under Reliant this is the original Stevens Sienna, designed by Professor Tony Stevens and built at the Reliant factory in Tamworth using a modified Kitten chassis with a new 850cc Reliant engine and four speed transmission. The body is bespoke to the Sienna, a second version was built utilising a Triumph Herald chassis, that no longer exists. This actual car featured in Autocar May 1977, Professor Stevens second production model the Cipher appeared at Earls Court Show in 1980 again using the Reliant chassis with options on the powerplant. The Sienna story is well documented, and it was after meeting Tony and interviewing him for Classic Car Buyer we decided to purchase the car which had remained dormant in his workshops for many years; last used in the early 90's. The idea was to restore the car with a series of articles published over a six-month period; the full story is available to read
online .. please contact me for details of the link or additional restoration images of which there are dozens.
The Sienna retains all of the original running gear whilst the windscreen was replaced with aeroscreens and wind up windows were removed… all of the removed parts will come with the car including the folding roof; these parts can easily be reinstated. Once completed the cars first MOT for decades was undertaken and it passed with no advisories in May 2017. Since that time the Sienna has travelled less than 100 miles and remained in a heated garage. Lack of use and loosing my storage facility is why the car is for sale, it starts up and runs correctly… viewing is most welcome but please consider the current situation with regards to test drives. Being over 40 years old it is now registered as historic without the need for tax or MOT. Feel free to contact for more information, only two Sienna’s were built, this is the first and surviving example, it is unique but parts (apart from body panels) are readily available. Loads of history, books plus images and details... with this advert is original advertising image with Prof Stevens.
