If you have ever considered or aspired to restoring a big cat, they do not come any bigger than this, i do not believe you will ever find an opportunity like this again.

A genuine barn find that i have driven around the yard but have now filled the fuel filter with sludge even after cleaning one tank, engine is does still start but has auto choke that will need attention, goes forwards backwards and stops.
Even the brakes work, binding but working, power steering is usual Jaguar super light, lights work, heater blower works
Original tool kit is present and looks complete as are jack wheel brace and spare wheel.

First registered to a gentlemen in Solihull West Midlands who did 36000 miles in ten years before tucking it away for the winter of 1980, the sold to a chap in Essex in 2013 who never used it but kept it in his barn.
So 2 registered keepers and i have the original v5 and the new red one as well as book pack in its folder.

Having given it a good going over it has a super solid structure, original sills, inner wings with stamped chassis number, all original panels and apart from a lower side flanks repaint sometime during that first ten years no signs of previous repairs or welding.
I cannot see anywhere this car needs structural welding except the o/s rear jacking point, everywhere is rock solid and not covered in under seal either. All four jacking point rubbers are still there.
Having had a good poke and bang around i cannot see it requiring any new panels, the lower rear valance is the worst but only the outer, a good feel and poke and the inner is solid. The 2 offside doors might need a little to bottom inner lip above the skin fold and wings and rear quarters a little bit of new metal low down.
The lip holding door seals in the shuts is crusty in places.

Inside is very original, there is a bit of cracking to the top panel of the drivers back rest but the rest of the leather is excellent, the original coating to the veneer is flaking but the veneer has not lifted apart from under passenger front quarterlight and i think that will glue back with care, front carpets are flaky on the floors and it needs a new head lining but there is not a great deal of money needed to make it very nice again.

I have loads of pictures now, there is nothing that a competent home restorer could not deal with except perhaps a top class re paint and no rare expensive panels to be found, the interior needs time more than money, the exhaust system is fine apart from both rear silencers, centre silencers look like new.
You are not going to find previous bodged repairs on what is a 2 owner very low miles Jaguar that had 10 years light use and 40 years in storage, there are no dents and panel fit is factory.
