1986 Ford Capri 2.0 Laser For Sale
Reluctantly I've decided to offer my Capri for sale. Bought on the 1st August 1986 from Ringway of Crewe (I've had some replica dealer number plates made), this car was cherished through its early years. In 2000 it went over to Northern Ireland where it stayed for the next 13 years. In that time the owner, a Northern Ireland Capri club member, lavished thousands of pounds on it. The car was originally a 1.6 but around 2008 he had the original engine replaced with an exchange/ rebuilt 2.0 engine (205 block) which was then rebored to a 2.1. This engine was then fitted into the car with all new ancillaries such as alternator, water pump, new carburettor, electronic fuel pump, 4 branch exhaust manifold and sports exhaust etc.. The car also had new shocks all round, braided brake hoses, Volvo 240 4 pot brake calipers on 2.8 discs etc.. It also was thoroughly wax oiled. I have loads of invoices and mots from this period. There is also several letters from the club about how good the condition was and its value for insurance purposes. He sold the car in 2013 and it came back to the England. I bought the car in Oct 2017 and have continued to cherish it. During my ownership I've replaced the aerial with an original electric one. I've replaced the front brake discs, serviced regularly including the cam belt and anti freeze in April this year. I've also just changed the oil and filter in August when it had a fresh mot. It also has had new spark plugs, dissy cap and rotor arm, air filter, brake fluid, etc. in the last year or 2. As the car had some polished alloy wheels fitted I sourced an original set of laser wheels which I had refurbished and new Uniroyal 185 tyres fitted. Condition is very good. Most of the paintwork is the original factory paint. This car has never had any welding or does it need any. It is an unrestored car and is as good as it looks in the photos. As said, I've loads of history dating back to the late 90s. Also has the original handbooks, service and radio books etc..
