1966 Gilbern GT1800 PX / SWAP For Sale

One of only 202 GTs built, and sold as a ready built car in 1966 to a firm of accountants. Completely rebuilt in the late 1980's, it won several GOC Concours prizes between 1990-1999. During the mid 1990's its mechanical spec. was uprated so that the car could be used in Historic Endurance Rallies. It has competed in the 1996 Tulpen rally, The Targa Espana, 1997 Rallye des Rallye Alpes, 1998 & 99 Rallye Villa de Bilboa and in 2000 London - Lisboa and Leige-Rome-Leige. More recently it has been used on the Savy Costa Brava and Tour of Wessex rallies. The car has been written up many times in various magazines, the best known being Classic Cars April 1996 and MG Enthusiast Magazine July 2012. Sit behind the Moto Lita wood rim steering wheel and enjoy a really fun road car with good performance and reliability. Backed by a great owners club and MGB mechanics it is a very easy car to live with. Excellent handling with no vices. An expensive car to buy in it’s day and now a fantastic and characterful alternative to the MGB.
