This is a superb early Series 2 that has led a sheltered life in the hands of only a few keepers all for long periods of time.
This has meant it has not been molested and altered throughout its life.
A matching numbers vehicle chassis number the details below was built in Solihull in November 1958.
The spec was a 59 model year SWB 88" Petrol RHD Home Market vehicle in Bronze Green.
Registered in East Sussex as OPM 288 on 5th January 1959 it retains its original and valuable number.
Up to date V5 registration document present and ready to go in new owners name.
Tax and MOT exempt.
You will travel a long way to find a more original Land Rover.
The history starts in 1962 when OPM was purchased with 4,000 miles on the clock.
It remained at its home near Dover from 1962 until 1993 when it moved close by in Kent.
In 2007 it was sold to a new home near Southampton with only 59,405 miles on the clock!
Today there are 59,752 miles recorded!
It is very unusual to be able to verify the mileage on a car of this age but the paperwork stacks up in this case.
The chassis is in very good original sound condition having had a new rear crossmember at some point.
The bulkhead is a among the best I have seen and is superb with no welding needed and totally original.
There is an invoice on the file for a full brake system overhaul in 2015.
The paintwork has a superb patina to it and in my opinion should be left as is!
The original engine no the details below starts on the button and sounds good.
On the road it goes very well and the gearbox performs well with no jumping out of gear.
It has its original Elephant Hide sprung seats present which have been sympathetically restored.
All the rare early Series 2 features are present including the early square galvanised front valance, single wiper motor, screw vents, horn button on a stalk, indicator switch on an auxillary panel as it would have been fitted by the dealer.
Original 3 bolt tailgate, 10/58 dated radiator and lots more!
If I didn't already have an identical Land Rover I would be keeping this for my collection as it is in my opinion simply superb and exceedingly difficult to find in this condition.
