Riley One Point Five 1960 Mk II. Only one previous owner and genuine 65,000 miles. With valuable transferrable registration number included.

The car presents very well and is to original specification. I have owned this car for 18 years but need to reduce my collection. This a very good example of this sought after model, an upmarket version of the Wolseley 1500 having additions including a superior leather interior and twin SU carburettors (it was the GTi of its day!). Runs and drives very nicely and can keep up with modern traffic without problem. It was fitted from new with a push button Motorola radio which is in working condition.

Substantial restoration work has included:
• Rebuilt inner front wings to original pattern.
• Replacement NOS front panel.
• Replacement front genuine BMC wings (sourced rust free from Australia).
• New inner and out sills on both sides.
• Refabricated front chassis rails both sides.
• Refabricated front cross member.
• Brake system totally renewed with genuine NOS wheel cylinders and new copper brake lines.
• New Clutch.
• Fully reconditioned clutch master and slave cylinders.
• Front suspension bushes replaced.
• New stainless steel exhaust
• Five new radial tyres.
• Replacement fuel lines (to E5 fuel specification).
• Engine repainted in original BMC green.
• Engine compartment ancillaries repainted in original black.

The exterior bodywork is very straight and the chrome in very good condition, particularly the bumpers and grill. There is some slight pitting on the mazak components which is normal and almost unavoidable for a vehicle of this age. All electrics are in working order except for the fuel gauge (probably an easy fix). The car comes with a fitted tow bar (wiring not connected).

The interior is in very good condition with no rips or tears to seats. The interior walnut finish to the dashboard and door caps is in excellent original condition. The carpet has some wear. Headlining is very good (currently dropping slightly at rear but will be corrected with fitment of new screen rubber (see below). Original One Point Five script for the front wings is included.

This car is ready to use and enjoy and can be used as is. There is potential for development to concours condition should the new owner desire. I have new front and rear screen rubbers ready to be fitted and are complete with chrome inserts (included in sale). There is some historic paperwork including the original bill of sale.

The car would benefit from a respray if an immaculate finish is desired. There is some minor corrosion to the rear wheel arches and rear door bottoms which could be dealt with quite easily but is of no urgency. Second gear synchromesh is weak (I just double de clutch!). The price reflects its present condition including the transferrable registration number. Cars in top condition are fetching twice the advertised price.

Viewing highly recommended and can be arranged in HP5 (Chesham) or LU6 (Near Dunstable).
Full BACS transfer or cash before the vehicle is released.
