1936 Morris Special

Having recently been restored and receiving a few upgrades in the process, I have had some great fun with this and whilst I’d love to keep having fun with it, I have other itches that I’d like to scratch and I don’t have the room to accumulate.

The original chassis has been sandblasted and 2k painted

The original Front axle has received new kingpins, hub seals, track rod ends, fully refurbished brakes with superior shoe material, new shock absorbers
The original front wheels have been to Tudor Wheels for stripping, inspection and recommissioning with new Blockley crossply tyres and innertubes. The rear wheels have been blasted and painted too, again using new Blockley crossply tyres and innertubes as per the fronts.

The original Bishop type steering box has been reconditioned

Fully rewired with added safety cut-off switch at the rear

The brake system has been completely overhauled and upgraded to a dual circuit master cylinder with adjustable rear braking effort

The rear axle is an ‘8 inch’ unit, with a limited slip differential, 3.55-1 gears, ‘Strange’ halfshafts, 9” Big bearing housings and upgraded halfshaft bearings. The brakes have been completely overhauled with new drums, shoes, cylinders, all linkages, springs and new handbrake cables. New rear shocks and reconditioned original rear leaf springs

Fully TIG welded Safety cage using the correct 1 5/8” CDS tubing which makes up the main roll hoop/supports, side impact bars and dash bar.

The cooling system has been upgraded to an aluminium type radiator with an electric fan, made by Coolex.

Power comes from a 355 small block engine which has been recently overhauled –
• 4 Bolt main block
• 10.5-1 compression
• TRW forged pistons
• World Products Sportsman 2 heads
• Crane 1.5-1 full roller rockers
• Edelbrock Performer RPM camshaft / lifters
• Brodix Dual plane intake manifold
• Cal Custom rocker covers
• Mallory Unilite electronic ignition
• 725cfm Holley Vac Sec Carburettor
• Milodon high capacity sump
• Melling High Volume oil pump

Recently overhauled Borg Warner Super T10 4 speed manual gearbox
• New gaskets, bearings and seals all round
• New syncros
• Hays Billet steel SFI spec flywheel
• Centerforce clutch
• Hurst shifter

Perfect hillclimb / sprint car or country lane fun!
It weights 800kgs with a pretty much perfectly 50/50 weight split front to rear, so it handles great and has excellent traction thanks to the fantastic Blockley tyres.

If the photos and description have built an image of the car being a bit mad, you’d be correct. It has all of the power you will ever need, then a bit more. It is loud and downright uncivilised. It really is the most raw motoring experience you will ever have. That being said, it’s perfectly happy to just plod around town which I do regularly. It is currently set up for the taller driver (I am 6ft 2), but this is easily adjusted to someone of shorter stature.

Serious enquiries only please.
