1972 Kawasaki h2 750 For Sale
What can you do if you’ve got money sitting in the bank earning next to no interest? things aren’t going to change any time soon. fancy something classic? you could invest in something that will only increase in value while you’re enjoying it. this bike could fit the bill.
kawasaki stunned the motorcycling world when they introduced the 500cc h1 mach iii in 1968. but they were already planning an even bigger 2 stroke 3 cylinder motorcycle – the h2 750. the bike was introduced in 1971, and us dealers quickly gave it the nickname ‘widowmaker’. the bike’s capabilities were way too much for novice riders of the era; in some us states anyone could buy one and ride away on it, often with disastrous consequences.
this 1972 production h2 was restored over the last 3 years, during which time every part was either replaced or renovated as required. the engine and gearbox were re-built and the engine tuned by 2-stroke development specialists chapman tyrrell racing of evesham. crankshaft re-built by gary clark, kawasaki triple specialist. rick brett decals were used on the paintwork, which was colour matched from one of the original panels. matching engine and frame numbers; original takasago rims. genuine kawasaki parts were used throughout where possible. the only parts used that deviate from original are stainless spokes for ease of cleaning/maintenance; proper rubber tyres which are essential for anyone considering riding an h2. a sealed battery protects the chrome on your exhaust pipes. mileage is believed correct, but cannot be verified. it will increase as i’m using the bike. it runs and ticks over as it should, and is an absolute pleasure to ride. you can watch it in action on you tube; e-mail me and i’ll send you the link. technically the bike is still running in; i’ve been observing the break-in revs as suggested by kawasaki since being back on the road. by reviewing the pictures you can assess the condition of this motorcycle for yourself, although i’m happy to provide further photos of any part of the bike should you require them. viewing is recommended if you are seriously considering purchase.
the original 1972 h2 is a landmark motorcycle and will always be popular with classic enthusiasts. they do come up for sale from time to time on ebay and via dealers; perhaps you have been looking for one, and like me reviewing the descriptions and pictures. ‘original’ is an overused word for something that all-too-often really needs serious restoration. ‘fully restored’ doesn’t necessarily mean correctly. recent so-called ‘stunning’ bikes i’ve seen have wrongly applied decals on tanks and/or side covers; a left side fork bottom reversed and used on the other side of the bike; even an incorrect fuel tank used, necessitating the wrong fuel cap. and that’s just from what can be seen from the pictures supplied.
if you’re looking for a really nice standard 72 h2, you’ll be hard pressed to find a nicer one than this. 19,995 classified ad
now the legal bit. a commitment to purchase in the form of a 500 gp pounds payment via paypal is required immediately post sale. although the bike is fully restored and in full working order, no warranty is expressed or implied as i am not a dealer. it is therefore strongly recommended that where possible you view the bike prior to purchase to satisfy yourself as to the condition. the bike is available to worldwide ebayers, and i will assist you as much as i can in the shipping process; however the following companies are experts and can help you with transportation if you don’t already have someone in mind:-
