1972 Jaguar E Type Series 3 V12 For Sale

Wonderful E Type in matching numbers, matching colours, UK manual rhd with wires - heritage certificate confirms.

After three years of this glorious motor car it’s time to move on, with too many toys and not enough time I regret to have to put this amazing machine up for sale.

It’s been treated to much work and enhancement while in my care, such that you can jump in it right now and blast down to the south of France should the whim (and current circumstances!) allow you.

I know this because that’s exactly what I did a couple of years back. It turns heads wherever it goes and I have never had so many compliments for any car I’ve owned (many I might add). Driving it makes you feel a million dollars, it wouldn’t be out of place on a film set and I will miss that for sure.

To get the car to this point here’s a list of the upgrades and new replacement parts to ensure reliability, from euro trips, a drive to the shops or a weekend car show (should these start up again next spring), in no particular order and with receipts and a neat file to confirm, from SG Barrett mostly;

New high output self regulating alternator
New High torque starter (excellent addition)
New brake and clutch master cylinders (refurbed peddle box at same time)
New brake servo
New brake pads all round
New heater box union (and controls fixed to allow screen and cabin cooling / heating as it should be)
Four brand new Pirelli’s (cinterato with correct speed ratings - advisable cos this is a quick car!) And many you will see for sale will be on the old P4000s which mean those tyres are at least 6 years old, when they stopped making them)
New door handles and locks (car is secure!)
Drivers door hinge new to fix the old sagging door issues many have
New wing mirrors
New seat belts for proper safety
New jag spec reversing lights (very specific Lucas lens pattern i.e. not MGB copies)
New performance stainless steel exhaust (nice sound but not boy racer)
New cam cover seals and refurbed cam covers
New dizzy, leads, plugs and coil - getting a good spark I must say
Fully deadmatted interior significantly improves the cabin ambience
New battery
Professional Crypotune performed October and running as it should - fast!
Plus other things I’ve probably forgotten...

As you will see this V12 has been treated to the racing inspired 6 twin choke Webber conversion - not cheap but incredibly exciting and a glorious noise.

This gives the car an edge and performance that must have been unimaginable in 1972 and trust me, still surprises many a GTI owner today! Simply glorious!

Other points to note and the reason it attracted me was that the previous owner fitted an all alloy rad, big electric fan to complement existing fans, modern wires to replace the ageing less reliable ones and fully adjustable spax all round.

The interior is in great original condition and I have replaced the centre tunnel console with new gator lever and gear lever knob to finish it off - as with all of the above nearly all parts removed that were still ok have been kept and can go with the sale if desired.

The paint is generally in good condition save for a couple of marks that I did have booked in for rectifying - but my paint guy lost his lease and is yet to set up his new shop - these do not detract from the overall appearance and are am easy fix (300 to 400 was quote) and I can’t wait while he finds new premises.

Overall this car will make you proud to show off at shows, pub meets and even on continental trips - as I have done. I’ll be sorry to see it go but my other five vehicles need some love and attention!

Tax and MOT exempt (current runs out soon but will put new MOT for new owner).

Part exchange, with money my way always considered, classic Lotus, Aston, Porsche or anything interesting, classic British 60s70s80s - try me you can only ask you might have something I like and we can do a deal!
