|Engine and frame numbers match the details on the original buff log book and current V5 documentation. the bike has had 8 owners since Aug 1960 inc Cundles Ltd, Liverpool who sold the vehicle new. BSA Service sheets and the Book of the BSA service manual also in sale.|
All the main parts are present, although some need refurbishment, or replacement see images. E.g 2x final drive chains present but both really are worn, front tyre / innertube holds air but, at 30plus years old and it being a Dunlop remold should really be replaced if its going on the road.
The bike was completely dismantled by the previous owner 30 years ago, I have had the vehicle 2 years, the cylinder head had been removed consequently the piston was "rust" seized in the barrel, now released it definitely needs a replacement piston & rings, and would probably run but, really needs a barrel liner as although smooth after honing the cylinder barrel liner is slightly oval.
The original chronograph speedo has been refurbished and works, hence 2 miles, it previously read 16000 miles. New head bearings fitted, rear brake shoes are new, new swing arm rod and bushes fitted, along with a new brake actuator rod through the swing arm. finally new seat.
The gearbox seems to be in perfect working order and the engine bottom end turns over easily.
The photos showing a rolling frame is the furthest I got building it up, it has recently been dismantled, to the "exploded" view image for ease of storage & to fit in a family hatchback car if necessary, it fitted easily into a Ford Focus when i collected it.
