Welcome to the auction of my 1969 Triumph TR6. Where do I start.... I have owned this car for over 15 years and spent money on the car over the years as and when I had funds. I had always wanted a TR6 and it is with regret I have come to the conclusion I will never have the time or funds to finish it. I no longer have the garage space to store it and I am not mechanically minded.

The car is a dry state import. It was sold to me RHD, in british racing green and I was told its a more desirable early chassis model? The paintwork was very poor and it wasn't running. There was a whole host of history with the car, which I am still trying to find. There were two folders full of receipts both in the UK & Florida. There were receipts for a high lift Kent cam and further tuning items so I imagine the engine has been "breathed on". I will keep looking for the file and hopefully update with better news in due course. I don't have the V5.

Finished in British racing green. I had this re-sprayed over 10 years ago. I was happy at the time but it has since faded and has chips over the car now. The paint will polish up and is quite presentable but to take it to the next level it will need a complete respray. The panel gaps have been worked on, they were terrible, still aren’t perfect but I could live with it. The hood was new 10 years ago so its still fine, it has a zip out rear window, which works well. I had the wheels refurbished with new tyres but they are showing signs of discoloration and surface rust. All lights, badges, bumpers, plates, glass, handles etc are all intact and decent.

A very original interior in good condition. It needs a good clean but seats are not cracked or have holes in. The factory original wood dash is good and a completely uncracked padded surround is in excellent order, as are the black vinyl door cards. The original Smiths gauges operate and provide healthy readings. There is a new carpet set in black with green piping which I installed myself some years ago. There is a nice wood rim steering wheel. The rear cards are good too, missing one wheel arch but I think that’s in the boot.

The factory straight six-cylinder engine does run. It starts well but does need a tune after sitting for so long. It will drive, engage through all the gears. It starts every time with hardly any choke and will remain idle. The engine has received subtle reliability improvement upgrades such as a kenlow electric fan, a new battery, new fuel metering unit and injectors, a Bosch fuel pump, new plugs, coil and the engine has been serviced but this was in 2017. I have receipts since 2017 for over £5000.00 for mechanical & electrical works, which will come with the car.

The car will need welding to the chassis. Externally the body is rust free but I want to be as honest as possible and I am not a mechanic. For the right person this is a great rolling or full restoration project that can easily be completed during the locked down winter months. It’s an iconic british sports car that are appreciating significantly so get yourself a bargain!

Please note the car is sold as seen. It will need significant work to make roadworthy and cannot be driven home. I have advertised this car elsewhere so I can remove it at any time. I welcome honest buyers to come and have a good look at the car prior to bidding. All bids are final and I will not entertain dreamers. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

An early UK 150 bhp iconic Triumph TR6, with a Lucas petrol injection system. Appears to have been restored some 15 years ago, with body off and many new panels. Lovely fitting hood, with fresh looking.....
