This is a really lovely bike that runs and rides beautifully. Smooth and good power.
Originally sold to the home office to compliment cold war emergency services and put in store from new then sold to Northern Constabulary. Been in private hands since but very little use and mileage is very low and bits in motor I have seen are in excellent order
I bought this when I could not get a Velocette Viper in good condition and sort of fell in love with it after a bit of work. I thought the Carb was an issue so bought a new one then realised it was advance retard which is now not fitted as I went fully electronic and it really has made a difference
Original Fire extinguisher
Not restored nor does it need it
Converted to electronic ignition (no ATD - great!)
Some tidying up incl flushing oil and oil changes throughout
LED lights (Via Paul Goff - best ones are expensive!)
Locking Twistgrip (new chrome)
The correct v rare speedo has been overhauled by Cromonetrics
Custom made Matchless indoor cover
+ Lots of other stuff I cannot recollect
Now I have bought the Viper I have to say the Matchless is easily as nice but one has to go
Video of it running after fitting the Ignition (but not fully adjusted) can be found at Arthur Hrd on You Tube
