Hi there

This is a genuine German built 1966 Samba, first delivered to Finland.

The bodywork on this Samba is in excellent shape. The metal and paint is by JMA Refinishers in the Samba’s correct original colours that it left the factory in – Velvet Green and Cumulus White two-tone, with Silver White bumpers.

Please see the underside photos - it is in excellent condition. The engine bay is also extremely good.

Note that one of the front screens is cracked – but a replacement pane is included. I also have the (round) mirrors.

I have the sill strips - I did not want them fitted but you can. (I think they are a bit glitzy)

It has the (correct for year) diamond cut bumpers. I have the delux trims for the front (polished) but not the rear.

The mechanical restoration was done by Harry Harpics and the goal was a practical and usable vehicle. It has a very reliable engine (stock 1600 unit), which runs very smoothly. He also fitted an independent rear suspension (using a 1303 gearbox). The wheels are totally standard finish with chrome dome hubcaps, and fresh new tyres which have hardly been used.

The interior has been refitted as part of the restoration. The bench seats have been artfully trimmed by noted specialist Delilah’s. The Goldie sun roof is restored. The wooden units were made from scratch by a local cabinet maker. There’s a sink within the cabinet next to the rearmost bench, and there’s also a gas hob within a cabinet which is not currently fitted, but is designed to be affixed to the inside of the side door.

The steering wheel is unrestored as I have not decided whether I would replace or restore. The drivers kick panel trim panel is included but not fitted. Also the set of ‘jail bars’ are included - I just did not want them fitted.

There are a few items that need finishing off. But this is a really lovely, subtle and classy looking van.

Thanks for looking
