Armstrong Siddeley Motors ceased trading in July 1960 so this car has to be one of the last models manufactured as the car was sold new by Taggert's Glasgow and was first registered to Mr M Drummond from Lanarkshire on May 13th 1960. The car then passed to Mr J H Thompson 11/01/1967 a Mr A H C Thompson then took it over in 1969 and moved the car to California on 29th December 1969. The car was exported from the USA to Australia in June 1992 by Mr Robert Penn Bradley who is highly regarded by the ASOC as an Armstrong Guru. Penn then totally dismantled the car and carried out a complete restoration between 1992 and 2001. the car at this stage registered 53,278 miles. Penn won many rallies between 2001 & 2004, before selling to Mr J S Link on 12/07/2010 who also rallied the car winning ASCC National Concours Bendingo in 2013. This stunning car was repatriated to the UK by Mr P Buckie from London in April 2016 who covered very few miles before selling the car to me in August 2019. I now require the garage/storage space for a project so it is with regret that I need to pass on this fabulous car to a new custodian.
The exterior of the car is Sand over Sable and it is in an exceptional condition, the interior leather is as new being the original champagne colour and the carpets are new in light brown. The underside and chassis of the car is solid with no rust and almost as shiny as the exterior bodywork, under the bonnet is also polished and clean. The car has been well maintained by all of its previous owners it has had a 2 speed electric fan fitted "though this has never been required in the UK", there has also been safety concious updates such as a 4 way hazzard relay/switch & a high level LED rear brake light , the car has a full nil advisory M O T. This car is mechanically perfect, it performs strongly and the drive is very smooth. I believe this car to be certainly one of the best around.
