motodrome offer for sale something interesting - a 1986 Austin RTV 4x4 (Rough Terrain Vehicle)

This is a very rare (one of 24 ever made) Austin Mini-based all-terrain 4x4 vehicle – this is chassis no.14. RTV’s have a unique central articulated joint between the cab and truck bed, giving unrivalled off-road capability, combined with super-low gearing from the automatic gearbox. Whilst it’s road legal, it’s top speed is around 30mph.


The chassis houses an Austin Mini A-series 998cc engine in the rear section, mounted in-line, with twin driveshafts running fore and aft to chassis mounted Triumph Herald differentials, and the front and rear sections pivot around a central bearing assembly. All the running gear is fully enclosed with a front to back skid plate.

Odometer reading 9000 miles – the first owner was Scottish Hydroelectric.

This has recently had a full frame-off restoration with all new brakes, steering and suspension, fully rebuilt engine, and interior reupholstered.

Fitted with:aluminium dual core radiator, kenlowe fan, stainless fuel tank, new unleaded head and electronic ignition, LED roof light bar, LED rear worklights, UHF radio, and stereo.
