1973 ROVER P6 3500 S by Panel Craft
1 of only a few made

British car maker Rover launched their P6 in 1963 at The Earls Court Motor Show. A superbly modern, fashionable and striking design that was well received by the attendees of the show; media and public alike.

The P6 only a year later was awarded European Car of the year, due to its pretty design and mechanical prowess. From the De Dion tube rear suspension, disc brakes all round, aluminium panels used on the bonnet and the boot lid she was very much a sports car, and very much enjoyed by the young executives in period. In 1968 a Buick derived 3528cc V8 was offered, a leap forward from the initial 4 cylinder offering and further growing the cars reputation.

Taking this P6 3500 V8, FLM Panelcraft of Battersea made few of these special estate cars, and we are very lucky to have this lovely one for sale with us back home in Battersea. FLM were very well respected in their field of building estate cars famously taking Aston Martins and converting them into 'shooting brakes'.

This lovely car we have for sale has undergone a full restoration, starting in summer 2017 and not long finished now looking beautiful for it. It was a very well done restoration and correspondence in the file show that if an original aspect of the car could be kept it was, rather than just replacing the old with the new. Properly done.

An appropriate change to the gearbox was made putting in the more desirable, and fuel efficient SD1 5-speed manual over the less comfortable original 4-speed. The lovely webasto sunroof works perfectly as you would expect and the V8 grumble is oh-so good.

On location for her photography she garnered plenty of attention, from the likes of enthusiastic dog walkers, to one particularly famous British fashion designer.

We love this car, she is very very rare, designed fabulously, has a V8 engine and sits beautifully in her striking dark blue. Certainly a car that is needed to be seen!

Picture of 1975 Rover 3500 - only 14.500 miles since new For Sale

Launched in the early sixties the new P6 was very, very modern and many traditional Rover owners were dismayed with the new arrival when they first encountered her in their local showroom More over, the 2000cc 4 cylinder motor was not really that sassy - fortunately the chaps in Rover management soon purchased the r

Picture of 1966 Rover P6B - 3500 Prototype For Sale

A brilliant piece of British car design, the Rover P6 was launched as the Rover 2000 with a single carburettor version four-cylinder engine in 1963 and won the first European Car of the Year award It boasts a very modern design concept and running against the thinking that all Rovers were for old men smoking pipes

Original auto box replaced by SD1 5 speed manual many years ago, engine replaced with 3.9 litre with Eddlebrook Stage 1 head, by R.P.I Engineering of Norwich in 2016, just 6,000 miles ago (full details on file), at same time fitted with Weber carb, new water pump, oil pump upgrade and converted to run on LPG – fully

This is the Rover P6 3.5-litre V8 - top of the range in Old English White paintwork with red leather and carpets to match. The engine sounds wonderful with a real grunt to it and pairs up well with the silky-smooth automatic gearbox. The car is oustanding condition and it really is a fantastic colour combination. T

This car was a barn find about 12 years ago which was the last time it was driven. The condition is very honest but a total rebuild would make it a concours winner. History unknown but is an Australian delivered car. The early P6B`s are hard to find in reasonable condition and Australia offers cars that are less rust
