Built in 1994 for competition and powered by a 1.4 Vauxhall J Series (Astra/Nova) engine fed by twin Webber carberattors, the engine was built and developed to provide a reliable 120 bhp. Primarily designed as a road going competition car but not raced for the past 22 years and just over 11000 miles on the clock.
The engine was built using a ported and gas flowed 1400cc Vauxhall Engine with a lightened and balanced camshaft, con rods, flywheel and front pulley breathing through a Irmsher inlet manifold with twin 40 DOCE Webber carberettors and JR filters. Stage 3 Astra Challenge Kent Cam. 4-2-1 Stainless steel exhaust system with a repackable aluminium silencer. Sounds awesome.
The drive train is an Opel Manta GTE 5 speed gearbox driving the rear wheels via a Ford Escort Mk1 rear differential fitted with a Quaife LSD and tapered balanced halfshafts. 20mm spacers fitted to the rear wheels. 5th gear lock out by the gear lever.
Wheels fully refurbished and powder coated 13 inch Performance Supalites fitted with brand new Nankang NS-2R road legal track tyres, 180 treadwear. There is a spare set of 13 inch OZ MSW wheels with road tyres and a further set of spare matching road tyres with good tread.
Standard Westfield Spax adjustable suspension with Ford Cortina rear drum brakes and Ford Cortina front discs with TVR Cerberra rear calipers, Mintex competion pads fitted including spare set.
The car is registered as an historic vehicle and as such is Tax Free and MOT Free, Registration AUO IL valued at £1000 comes with the car.
