A stunning Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante 'X-Pack' 7.0 litre manual, finished in Black Pearl with Light Tan hides and black mohair hood.
This superb V8 Vantage Volante was originally manufactured in LHD configuration and sold new in July 1989 via British Motors in Monaco. The accompanying copy of its Car Record Card shows that '15790' left the factory fitted with optional X-Pack engine and was originally finished in Suffolk Red with Magnolia trim and Off White hood. Aston Martin Works has confirmed the car returned to Newport Pagnell in December 1989 and was converted to RHD and from automatic to manual transmission on behalf of marque specialist Desmond J Smail.
A letter on file (dated December 2012) states that from 1991 to 2006 the Volante was used solely by Mr Touker Souleyman, chairman of the Low Profile Group. The car had been purchased from Aston Martin Brighton in 1991 with a recorded mileage circa 1,000, and was regularly maintained by marque specialist Rikki Cann, the original service book bears this out. The same letter also states that when sold in 2006 at 39,000 miles, the car was in perfect working order and similar cosmetic condition.
Despite this the subsequent owner decided on a course of extensive restoration to Concours winning standards. Mechanical restoration was carried out by RS Williams to include upgrading the X-Pack engine to 7.0 litres, body and chassis fabrication by Bodylines and full bare metal repaint in Black Pearl by Spray Tec Restorations. A new black mohair hood was fitted at the same time and the interior completely re-trimmed in Light Tan hide complemented by matching carpeting throughout. All interior veneers were re-finished with a new Nardi wood rim steering wheel, Becker sound system including Bluetooth connectivity and DVD navigation and many other enhancements. This superb car has seen minimal use since restoration but has been continuously maintained by marque specialists to the highest standards and comes with a history file to include stamped service book, factory build record, various MOT certificates and many bills for works carried out.
