1991 HONDA NSX 5-SPEED MANUAL For Sale by Auction
Offered for sale at auction on 15 December at Sandown Park Racecourse, Esher, KT10 9AJ
The origins of the NSX trace back to 1984, with the HP-X Honda Pininfarina eXperimental concept sports car. Honda committed to the project, with the intention of meeting or exceeding the performance of the then V8 engined Ferrari range, while offering reliability and a lower price point. The NSX was designed by a team led by Chief Designer, Masahito Nakano, and Executive Chief Engineer, Shigeru Uehara. It benefitted from advanced aerodynamics and styling inspired by a F-16 fighter jet cockpit and input from the late Formula One World Champion, Ayrton Senna, during the final development stages.
This NSX became the world's first mass-produced car to feature an all-aluminium body. It was powered by an all-aluminium 3.0 L V6 engine, which featured Honda's VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) system developed in the 1980s, a 5-speed manual or 4-speed Sports Shift automatic transmissions.
The vendor has owned this 1991 Honda NSX Manual for around 3 years, having imported the car himself from Japan. He has always loved Japanese sports cars especially the NSX as it was the last car that Ayrton Senna worked on before he died. It is also the first aluminium high performance car made by Honda. He is looking to sell the car due a change in our circumstances and will be very sad to see it go. There is a partial service history for the car and all the import documents. The car has low mileage around 46,000, and the vendor has carried out the following work on the car since it has been in his care: Full service including Cam belt, New uprated clutch, New Yokohama tyres all around, Upgraded the stereo and replaced the windscreen with a genuine Honda windscreen. The vendor says that he has owned and worked on classic cars for his whole life and have taken the care of the car and kept it in great condition. The car has always been kept under cover in hisr workshop since he has owned it, and only taken it out for the occasional weekend leisurely drive. The car is in very good condition, and will have a full years MoT on it just before the auction date.
