Yes, 1 owner car, with the astonishing low mileage of 12,672. car laid up in a london garage for 39 years, owner died and the allegro had to be liberated due to house sale. Had not moved since last mot in 1981!
very dusty and dirty and care was needed to get it out of the tight garage where it was parked up, but the tyres were pumped up and still hold air now some 8 months later, but these will be replaced shortly. After a wash and brush up and t cut, the allegro came up looking like a 10 year old car and then began the sympathetic light recommissioning needed to get it roadworthy and many new service parts were fitted. No rust bar some scabs on the bootlid and the underside is amazing. There are a couple of small scrapes and dings, where the elderly owner had backed it into a tight/small garage, but you have to look for them. The damask red paint is very good and totally original and this variant is the rare 2 door coupe! The beige vinyl is also lovely, bar some loose stitching on the drivers bolster-owner was a bit on the large side apparently. Everything works and the engine runs whisper quiet and like a sewing machine. Chrome excellent. Will have new refurbished wheels, new tyres and new hubcaps.
currently having the brakes and cooling system overhauled (new rad, hoses etc etc) and will be ready by the end of the year. This is my 2nd allegro, but alas i have lost my workshop storage space and it most certainly needs to be garaged, which i am not able to do at present. Rare opportunity.
