This is another true time warp, just 30,000 miles from new and one owner from 1968 to 1994. VBP 498F left the factory in 1968 finished in Lagoon Blue (paint code CJO) with Blue trim and was used sparingly with its first owner over a 26-year period to 1994. A Ford Owner’s Club valuation letter from 1987 states at that point, the Anglia had covered a genuine and verified mileage of 29187 miles. Valuation letters from 1987 to 1993 track the mileage up to 29776 and from 1994 to 2015 the Ford was dry stored and off the road.
In 2017 after 23 years off the road, this incredibly original Ford Anglia was carefully re-commissioned, serviced, treated to new tyres and a battery and put back on the road. Since 2017 the Ford has covered around 100 miles and has arrived with us directly from its previous owner, a South Yorkshire based garage proprietor. We are pleased to report the car has arrived in excellent, strong mechanical order with a lovely, sweet engine and smooth gearbox, excellent handling and braking. VBP 498F is excellent on the road, is great fun and an ideal practical and usable classic.

This De-Luxe model Anglia is as genuine and honest as you could find. The Anglia retains its original paintwork which remains bright and presentable, and various touch ups around the car suggest an elderly owner for most of its life has kept it looking as good as possible without re-painting panels. The car has never had rust issues, the underbody is exceptional, and the panels are superb with excellent gaps, exceptional and original door bottoms and wheel arches. This would be an incredibly easy flat and re-paint however many enthusiasts will choose and prefer to keep this car totally original. The interior is fabulous, you can see this car has only covered 30,000 miles from new by the condition of the original seats, and even the original over mats are still in place. The dash, headlining and door cards are all lovely and original, this is a fabulous find and it will be difficult to repeat.
