1971 Rover P6 7250 miles from new For SaleUnexpectedly and reluctantly offered for sale With just 7,250 miles from new and in unrestored showroom condition, this might be the definitive remaining production Rover P6 3500. Finished in Brigade Red with Barley buck-skin interior, this 'Three Thousand Five' received its Pre-Delivery Inspection on 27th January 1971, and was supplied new on 3rd February 1971 to Mrs Betty Wilmott, of Bentley Heath, Solihull and registered SXC 576J. It was specified with rear-heated screen, a Radiomobile 1070, safety harnesses and still has its deep pile over-carpets front and rear. The Rover was carefully laid up in 1980 with 3,028 miles recorded, with MOTs until that date, showing: 1974 2,143 miles 1975 2,182 miles 1977 2,208 miles 1978 2,973 miles 1979 3,028 miles The Rover remained off the road for twenty years and, after being inherited by a relative, it was MOT’d in 2000 showing 3,312 miles. SXC 576J was then sold to the next owner in 2002, the records showing: 2002 3,468 miles 2003 3,760 miles 2004 3,952 miles 2005 4,085 miles 2006 4,372 miles 2007 4,554 miles 2008 5,155 miles 2009 5,444 miles 2011 5,600 miles 2012 6,050 miles 2013 6,169 miles 2014 6,186 miles 2015 6,477 miles 2016 6,626 miles 2017 6,838 miles 2019 6,917 miles After a thorough and substantial service and recommission running to several pages and thousands of pounds, the Rover was MOT’d in 2020 at 6,941 miles. It has clearly been cherished throughout its life and drives faultlessly, with engine ticking over silently at 450 rpms and must be a ‘Preservation Class’ Concours contender. All books, manuals, brochures are with the Rover, along with MOTs, early tax-discs and so forth. A once in a lifetime opportunity to own a unique, unmolested Solihull registered Rover in exceptional condition and experience how good they really were, it is now being offered on the open market for just the second time this century and just ahead of its 50th birthday.
