EXTERIOR
The unique sports bodystyling including the chrome mesh radiator grille, bumpers, side skirts and tailgate spoiler help separate this sporting flagship model from the rest of the range. Finished is cost optional Stardust Silver, (Code 6), dynamic styling cues originating from the BTCC Mondeo race cars such as the integrated brake cooling ducts and lowered sports suspension make this car very special. Having covered such low miles with two fanatical owners the condition is fabulous with a bright radiate shine. A tiny rub to the lower front bumper, two miniscule stone chips and slight fading to one rear Mondeo badge are barely worth a mention. The Ford factory tinted glass and light clusters are perfect and the underside and wheel arch apertures are spectacularly clean. A collectors dream car.
INTERIOR
Performance and luxury in perfect harmony with the supportive sports seats finished in Midnight seat fabric with Match leather-trimmed seat bolsters, all unmarked. The perfect perforated leather trimmed steering wheel and gear knob have no wear thanks to the ultra-low 5,138 miles and the carpets have been protected by Ford mats. All controls function and are logical and uncluttered with precision focused movements. The Metallic finish on the instrument cluster bezel found only on the sporting models houses crystal clear working instrumentation and the Model 5000 radio/cassette still has the 6-disc cartridge wrapped in factory film never used! All door apertures are sparkling clean and the boot area appears unused. Truly exceptional and unquestionably an enthusiasts car.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The free-revving V6 24V Duratec engine offers a scintillating blend of low speed torque and high rev power and at the time was the fastest range topping offering. With 168bhp, a top speed of 139mph and 0-60mph in 8 secs are quoted, all despatched effortlessly and smoothly. Lifting the bonnet will reveal an exhibitionists dream with labels, plates and stickers intact, just as it left the factory and in a squeaky clean environment. The 5-speed gearbox is light and precise with a sporting feel.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Light weight 4-spoke alloy wheels are unmarked and shod in Michelin 205/50 R16 tyres with ample tread. Dual-line diagonally split servo assistance brakes with front and rear discs and ABS bring the car to a quick safe halt.
HISTORY FILE
This incredible low mileage Ford Mondeo ST24 was supplied new by Ford main dealers, H&J Quick Ltd, registered new on the 1st September 1999 to Mr Goodier. Purchased as a second car and strictly garaged, he opted for the Platinum Ford Service Connect Plan giving 3 year/3 services for an advance payment of £628.28. His absolute pride and joy it was annually submitted for an MOT and then placed back in the garage in preparation for the very rare occasional outing. On retirement from driving the car was sold to the second and only other owner, Mr Jenkins in January 2019. This car formed part of his newer Ford collection alongside iconic sporting Ford classics such as the Mk1 Ford Escort RS2000. Unfortunely, recent poor health dictated the selling of the car rather than long-term ownership allowing the opportunity for another lucky Blue Oval enthusiast to cherish this very rare modern classic appreciative of the amazing credentials and the fact it is the first model to wear the ST badge.
