Being Series 1 this is the single S.U. Carburettor. Easily changed to twin S.U.s but prefer originality.
Supplied to; Jay Chamberlain, as Lotus Distributor for the U.S.A. who sold the car new to: Bruce Berghoff of Marcom Incorporated.
An extremely detailed history folder for both its time in the U.S.A. and here in the U.K..
The car was subject to a total overhaul and rebuild in 1990 by A.N.E.Bates, Lotus Specialist, Salisbury. It was total, engine, gearbox, suspension, bodywork, absolutely everything!
This work was done for Mr Stanley Clark of Stanro Holdings Limited, Narborough, Leicester.

Just been fitted with a “Wosp” starter motor. Nothing else needed. I have not long owned this car, after years of looking. Unfortunately I have lost my job and it is a very regrettable sale. It has a trickle charge battery unit supplied, and battery cut off switch. Exactly as the photographs show. A unique and limited number car, that many F1 drivers in the 1960's cut their teeth on. It has led a pampered life with no expense spared, as shown by the detailed history for both the U.S.A. and the U.K.. Offers will be considered, however I would prefer the car to be seen and driven beforehand. Unless of course bought from outside the U.K.! Geoff, Lincolnshire; the details below. If not for Covid and Brexit the car would have been £80,000 a couple of years ago. Its time will come again.

The first generation of the Elite or Lotus Type 14 was a light weight two-seater produced from 1957 to 1963.
The car debuted at the 1957 London Earls Motor Court Show bearing chassis number 1008. The Elite had spent a year in development, aided by carefully selected racing customers before going on sale.
1975 Lotus Elite 502 16V LHD, Danish registration car, Few owners, Only 120.000 km, Manual, Electric Windows, Alloy Wheels. Very nice condition car both interior and exterior.
