1981 Daytona 500 pace car.
A rare opportunity to buy a great piece of American motoring history. This 1981 firebird is one of 2000 cars built to replicate the official NASCAR Daytona 500 pace car.
It has covered little over 76000 miles and is in good solid condition for a 40 year old.
The previous owner invested a lot into the car including a full engine rebuild upgraded Holley carb (aircon was removed) and a stainless exhaust with original style tailpipes, I spoke with the garage that worked on and maintained it during his ownership.
Unfortunately I only have a limited amount of paperwork with the car but for a very genuine reason. I’m happy to share the chassis no with any serious buyers to confirm it’s provenance.
Being a pace car it has all the factory extras and all of its unique extras. The “recaro” red interior is in great condition There are some paint imperfections around the body, the worst being on the near side rear but nothing that stands out. Overall the car is in a very presentable condition and not your regular rotten trans am.
The car will be mot’d for the new keeper although it will be exempt from 2021. Viewing is welcomed but I will need notice to get it home as it is in storage at a secure location.
