Ultra-rare Canyon red with Shadowline trim, grey SE leather. 286 bhp V8 engine but still capable of high 20s mpg and more if you’re sensible. 5 speed auto transmission with Tiptronic and sport mode options. Electric tilt and slide sunroof, windows and seats.
As you can see the car is striking and sits on refurbished style 32 BMW alloys with new Pirelli tyres. It’s covered a modest 124K miles and comes with a new MoT. Recent work includes an anti-roll bar link, rear trailing arms, and new front windscreen as part of a fettling to recommission the car after being in storage. The car is now in regular use and performs well with a reassuring and planted feel and none of usual wallowing which high mileage or neglected examples demonstrate.
There are a handful of areas which could be improved upon: there are two small blisters appearing on the rear arches and a scuff on the front nearside arch. The laquer on the very base of the rear bumper needs re-doing, the usual pixels on the dashboard are best read when it’s cold and the radio has decided to go quiet on me although there’s power. I’ll investigate this in the next few days.
The air-con blows cold and overall, it’s a nice car, but like all vehicles of this age it’d benefit from a few bits and bobs being done. Please bear in mind its over 20 years old.
