1961 Wolseley 1500

Mark 2 'Fleet' model.

Yukon Grey with original Red Leatherette Interior.

47,619 miles from new (documented)

Original Bill of Sale and unique Dealer Key ring with the car also.

NO Seatbelts fitted to this car nor a radio! Completely standard throughout.

Running on Cross-Ply Firestone tyres as per original style & size.

The interior is in excellent condition with a few minor marks to the colour of the headlining caused by the support braces. This car has not been smoked in either.

The car was purchased new on 28th April 1961 by a Mr Lovegrove of Selsdon, Surrey. During the following 27 years of ownership Mr Lovegrove used the car very little.

In 1988 my late Father purchased the car from Mr Lovegrove, the car was given a complete mechanical check and had some minor rust repairs completed. At this time it was decided to give the car a full exterior respray in its factory Yukon Grey to restore the original finish.

The car has remained in our family until now. During my younger years the car was used for Car Shows, Road Runs, and pleasure drives. It even stood in as the main family transport briefly when the usual car was off the road for minor repairs!

In 2002 the car had a light overhaul to bring it back up to the 1988 refurbishment level where the focus was on originality where possible.

Any works completed have always used genuine period parts where and when available and suitable.

After my Father passed away in 2008, the car passed to myself. It has not been used as much as I would have liked or hoped too due to both family and work commitments. As such the tough decision has been made to sell the car to an enthusiast who will look after and cherish the car accordingly.

Recently due to age and the low mileage the brakes & associated hydraulics were showing signs of failing so have been replaced throughout including all new wheel cylinders, new brake shoes, new hoses and also new rear axle brake pipes. The Brake master cylinder was rebuilt and the clutch master cylinder was replaced with a new item.

The Clutch is currently being changed (clutch disc has broken down) along with a new slave cylinder and clutch hose also. The car is currently at our local classic car specialists to complete this work.

The car was also recently serviced with new Champion Plugs, Oil Filter and Air Filter.

Viewings are very welcome and can be conducted in a 'socially distanced' manner.

The car is currently not drivable until the clutch has been replaced but all other aspects of the car can be tested and checked in the meantime.
