If you are reading this advert, you will know something about these cars, so I won’t give a detailed rundown of the marque’s history.
Suffice to say, this is a rare “Slough Built” RHD version from 1955 with the 1911cc engine and 3-speed box. Mine benefits from rare factory option such as a (still fully working) sliding steel sunroof and it also has ally boot-scrapers fitted into the trailing edge of the front wing, also shoes on the front of rear wings.
As is common, there is not a lot of history with this car, so you have to judge on condition.
Mileage stands at 41, 500 but obviously I am unable to verify that figure.
Stunning in maroon and black with very little corrosion. She is very solid underneath.
The chrome is all in equally excellent condition.
The leather is fantastically supple and soft with no tearing or cracking to be found. In fact, the rear seats barely look like anyone has ever sat in them. The springs and seat filling still give proper support.
The carpets are aged – naturally – but have no holes or tears in them either.
Windows all work including the wind-out windscreen which never fails to raise a smile.
The wood trim is still in good condition and the gauges all work including some additional ones that aid mechanical sympathy: oil pressure.
She even has a cigar lighter.
She drives exactly how she should – pulling smoothly through all 3 gears!
Oil pressure and compression is as expected on all cylinders. She makes about 40-45 psi when driving and about 25 psi when idling.
You can see that there has been thorough maintenance in the past evidenced through the fitment of items such as: copper brake pipes, contemporary flexi-hoses and bump-stops.
The previous owner had an additional electric cooling fan fitted to the radiator for those hot days when stuck in traffic
There are no oil leaks and the engine area itself has been kept clean.
I have also just given her a service.
Although lightly used (I am fortunate enough to have two Light 15s) I have done trips of 100 miles and 50 miles with no issues at all
Obviously, being 65 years old, she is tax and MOT exempt.
Feel free to contact me for any further information.
