Beschreibung:
Mercedes stellte den Typ W188 im Oktober 1951 in Paris vor. Die 300 S sind mit insgesamt 760 Einheiten (Coupes, Cabriolets und Roadster) weit seltener als die 300 SL und waren damals auch sogar teurer. Die 300 S waren über den gesamten Produktionszeitraum die teuersten und elegantesten Fahrzeuge im Mercedes-Programm.
Von 1952 bis 1955 wurden nur 203 Cabriolets produziert.
Dieses 300 S Cabriolet wurde 1954 in Deutschland an Graf von Faber-Castell ausgeliefert. Der Wagen wurde einige Jahre später in die USA verkauft und dort auf seiner nahezu unberührten Basis umfangreich restauriert. Anschließend fand das Fahrzeug seinen Weg in die USA, wo es über 35 Jahre lang Bestandteil einer der renommiertesten Sammlungen weltweit war. Vor etwa 5 Jahren gelangte der Wagen wieder zurück nach Deutschland. Datenkarte und Koffersatz etc. sind vorhanden.
Mit seiner lückenlosen Geschichte, seinem erstklassigen Zustand und der traumhaften Farbgebung hat dieses Sammlerstück viel zu bieten.

Description:
Mercedes presented the type W188 in October 1951 in Paris. With a total of 760 exemplars (coupes, cabriolets and roadsters), the 300 S are much more rarely than the 300 SL and were even more expensive at that time. The 300 S were the most expensive and elegant vehicles in the Mercedes range over their entire production period.
Between 1952 and 1955 only 203 convertibles were built.
This 300 S Cabriolet was delivered to Graf von Faber-Castell in Germany in 1954. The car was sold to the USA a few years later, where it was extensively restored on its almost untouched base. The car then found its way to the USA, where it was part of one of the most famous collections in the world for over 35 years. About 5 years ago the car came back to Germany. Data card and suitcase set etc. are available.
With its complete history, its excellent condition and the beautiful colour combination, this collector's item has much to offer. We recommend it.
