The time has come for me to sell my Mini! I am needing to buy a house in the near future which is forcing the sale.
This is a rare opportunity to obtain a genuine Rover Special Production Mini Cooper – one of only 1700 supplied globally of which just 1050 were for the UK market.
The RSP marked the re-introduction of the Mini Cooper brand. At the time of its launch the RSP included special features such as the stronger A-Series + 1275cc engine with 1.5” SU carb, Minilite-style alloy wheels with unique stud positions, special RSP labelled seats, leather-bound steering wheel, red carpets, oil cooler, twin driving lamps and John Cooper decals and stripes.
I have owned this car for around 3 years and it is a very nice example of the Mini Cooper RSP which has had significant expenditure during my ownership. There are invoices included for many parts fitted and work carried out with no expense spared. The car is rust free and the underside is Dinitrol protected.
Most recent work includes refurbishment of the genuine RSP wheels, professional repaint in the original colours, new clutch, new shock absorbers, new brakes, new fuel pump, etc. The car retains the genuine RSP engine and gearbox, original RSP leather-insert seats, instruments and steering wheel, RSP alloys, tinted glass and sunroof.
The car has a recorded mileage of approx. 100,000, and comes with a new MOT to December 2021. The MOT was passed with no advisories and the car starts, stops, drives and handles exactly as it should.
It is now 30 years old, and although not concours is in very good condition for the year and will not be shamed at any classic car show, club meet or rally.
The RSP is now very rare, extremely sought after and an appreciating asset.
