Selling on behalf of a customer. 1981 Ford Escort 1600 Sport in need of restoration. Car starts runs and drives, its currently MOTD and fitted with a 2.0 Pinto and 5 Speed box.It could be used as it is but real;ly wants restored to a better standard. We have the current UK V5 with it. This car was imported from South Africa about 4 years ago.<br /> <br /> Body - 1600 sport shell with similar strengthening on the front end to our RS models. Has been patched on front floors, outer edge of rear floor and boot wells. These are solid enough but really all need done properly. Will also need a repair on bottom of heater bubble.Paintwork is not the best and will need redone. I checked it over with the magnet, Pillars all good, sills good. Evidence of a bit filler in lower rear quarters on outside edge of boot wells and bottom of door at back edge. Definitely not loaded with it. Good starting point for a project. New headlights recently fitted<br /> <br /> Mechanics - Been fitted with a 2.0 pinto, alloy sump, 5 speed box. Car starts runs and drives, Carb will need a bit of fettling but the engine sounds decent. The rest is standard sport running gear. Brakes and clutch feel fine.<br /> <br /> Interior - Rear seat been retrimmed over in SA by look of it. Front seats are Suzuki Fishnet Recaros. Sport dash. Dash top needs recovered . replaced. Headlining ok. Interior C pillar trims need replaced.<br /> <br /> Wheels - RS / :Laser style alloys powdercoated in grey with decent tyres.<br /> <br /> Overall its a wee bit scruffy but has great potential with lots of good bits fitted.
