| Alfa GT 3.2 V6. Nice example of an increasingly rare und underrated GT. Only 80,000 of these cars were manufactured between 2003 and 2005, and they were amongst the last Alfas to be fitted with the wonderful Giuseppe Busso-designed V6. In the GT, this was in the latest 24-valve 3.2litre form, producing anywhere between 240 and 260HP together with astonishing throttle response which we just don’t get these days. It’s a lot of power for a relatively small GT, but thankfully, Alfa equipped the car with sophisticated double-wishbone front suspension which handles it very well. It also endows the GT with a nicely pointy front end. This one is a low mileage (87,000 genuine) example and is very tidy with no structural rust, and the red leather interior is also in good condition. It has the 18inch wheels which have recently been refurbished. There’s a fair amount of service history with the car, including evidence of a cambelt and water pump replacement at 68,640. An overhauled gearbox was fitted at 84,816, together with a complete genuine OE clutch and flywheel, and the front suspension was overhauled with new hydraulic dampers at 82,000. I have just fitted a new clutch master cylinder and the intake hose which seems to be a regular requirement on these cars and it has recently passed an MoT with no advisories. The car’s registration date handily falls into the lower road tax bracket (later GM-derived Alfa V6s attract a humungous tax bill) and it drives very nicely while delivering ballistic performance, accompanied by the most wonderful sound track. If you’ve never heard a Busso V6, you’re in for a rare treat. The How Many Left website suggests there are only about 240 Alfa GT V6s on the road in the UK, which is not very many so here’s your chance. It’s one of the lowest price advertised that I can find - others are available for 8,500, and 12,500 – and is only for sale because for some reason, I have two Alfa GTs…
