1968 Daimler v8 250 good example, many new parts. For Sale

Just recommissioned after 15 years storage in my insulated garage, I’ve owned the car for 35 years and always kept garaged. Moving house and downsizing leads to this reluctant sale.
Originally Warwick grey, I had her last resprayed jaguar midnight blue which is a great combination for the chromework and blue leather interior.
The following work has just been completed:
Front suspension rebuild to include polybushes on all wishbone/ anti-roll bar bushes. New correct front springs, wheel bearings, brake discs and pads and top & bottom ball joints (all David Manners supplied). Retained the girling shocks.
All 8 brake cylinders on original calipers were replaced with dunlops on the last rebuild before storage, less than 1000miles were done and the silicone brake fluid keeps them like new. Braking system also benefits from automec copper piping all round and goodridge stainless flexible hoses.
New lumenition electronic ignition. Fuel tank flush out, treatment and seal with POR15 completed the new parts along with new original type SU fuel pump. All copper fuel supply pipe. New oil, filter, ATF. Started on the first button! This car has always been a reliable one. Only extra fix after that was a new diaphragm for one of the carbs that was leaking.
On the last pre-storage rebuild I had the heads off and fitted new valves, springs piston rings, and doubled the valve oil seals (mini-cooper .. a handy mod to reduce the oil burn haze). Also I chose the best two heads from the original engine and the two spare engines, cant remember which heads went in. Have still got the 2 spare engines as they're rare now and they will come with the car, along with a complete spare Borg Warner Autobox.
When I bought the car in 1986, all the welding had been done thats common on this model.. new cills, crows feet, jacking points and panhard rod mount. I waxoyled and tetrosealed all the under areas and chassis insides straight away and the condition of the bodywork/ chassis now is testimony to this.
All lights and electrics work apart from the original heated rear screen that I disconnected to save battery drain. Front indicator lamps and sidelights are new. I fitted a discreet high level brake lamp to centre of rear parcel shelf. New coil. Modified screen washer, Kenlowe fan, replumbed pipes around inlet manifold. The plumbing is an issue from new with this engine, rubber T-piece hoses split and are a pig to replace. I used some parts from a stainless piping kit you get now and diverted hoses from the heater box which makes for better inlet manifold circulation. A plug in electric heater from the cigar lighter has done the demist. Radiator was recored about 30 years ago.
Interior looks great. Leather is all original and good apart from some stitching undone on drivers squab. I reconnolised it all when first purchased and have fed with hidefood regularly. Woodwork was revarnished, headlining replaced with correct woolcloth and new carpet all done on the first restoration. The front seats have original Britax inertia reel belts with Daimler motif. There were no rear belts originally fitted, but I took the chance of fitting some from the old passat hatchback I was scrapping. They're bolted onto original fixing points, just entailed a careful slot cut in the back seats so the mechanism is in the boot and no ugly reel on the parcel shelf. Includes the centre lap belt. Original HMV radio that works well (needs new knobs) with amazing hand-wind up aerial.
Stainless SS exhaust.
Tyres good quality Mabor, lots of tread and no perished walls.
This car has always been a rolling restoration for me so here's a to do list if I was keeping:
Paint looks great in the photos and even better at night, but does need some work or a respray, theres chips, crazing in places and surface imperfections.
Small paint bubble to door bases, spats, rear base of front wheel arches. This would be sorted with a paint job, essentially the panels all very good.
Power steering weeps a bit after storage so seals and a rebuild recommended. Its got new hydraulic pipes.
Engine.. I'd get an engine bluprinted out of the two spare ones. This is an older engine rebuild currently in place and it was always my intention to slot in a 'brand new lump' .. check out the Carpenter rebuilds they look great.

If I think of any more I'll add it. There's a box of documents including original workshop manual, parts book, owners manual, sales brochure, and almost a full original tool kit. Couple of boxes of assorted spares. Two spare engines and spare autobox.
The car has just been moved outside now only partially covered.

The XJC was a two-door coupé version of Jaguar?s successful XJ. Initially announced to the public in 1973, economic instability delayed its production until 1975. It would only be produced for a few years, until it was withdrawn in 1978, which ensured that few were sold and they are now a rare sight. EXCHANGE POSSIBLE ...

Of all the limousines built in very small numbers used by royals and top VIPs, only about 70 were made with the left-hand drive. Therefore this is an exceptional car in an exceptional condition.
