The car has gone through extensive mechanical updating and body styling by some of the best in the industry as detailed below.
Body Styling
Cars in Cloaks, London-based car styling workshop (globally recognised for Daria Radionova’s 2 million crystal Lamborghini) were commissioned to restyle the Mustang.
The aim was to create a powerful look and one-of-a-kind streetcar, that paid homage to its West Coast status. A matte black was chosen for the body, accented with bronze and white sports-style striping and black gloss details throughout. The Mag racing alloy wheels were powder-coated in bronze and are offset with white striking tyre writing. The wrap is ceramic coated for protection and longevity.
Engine
Ford 302 Hot Rod V8 crate engine recently installed in the USA delivering an impressive 300 horsepower. So far only 5,000 miles covered and recently expertly tuned and dyno test certificate by AT Speed racing in Essex. Re-jetting of the Holley carb. Also for 2021 oil change, filter and spark plug replacement. Extras include Shelby aluminium radiator, new petrol tank, new fuel pump and hosing.
Transmission
Complete nut and bolt rebuild 2 years ago of the C4 auto 3 speed box by Penn Autos in Birmingham, aka Andy Frost the talent behind Red Victor 1 (the worlds fastest street legal car). New valve brain and shift improver kit ensure everything is now perfectly synching up with the 300 bhp engine delivering exciting manual change up and down throughout every single gear. Still 9,000 miles left on the warranty.
Running gear and brakes
Replacement by Andy Frost of all shocks and towers front and rear, tie-rod ends, sway bars, dragster bars, lower arms and rear spring refurb. Wax oil protection to the underside of a good San Jose dry body chassis. Stopping power courtesy of front power assisted disc brakes and rear drums.
Exhaust system
Brand new Flow master exhaust fitted by Andy 2 years ago, stainless steel mid and back end with ceramic headers for awesome sound and zero rust.
Extras and provenance
Huge historic file with every receipt of work and ownership certificates going back decades. Cobra cat 1 immobiliser alarm, new Alpine bluetooth stereo with 4 speakers, phantom gauges, mustang bucket seats with new front and rear seat belts.
Recent circumstances have allowed me the opportunity to start restoring my Cobra Jet Project I am in the process of undertaking a full nut and bolt mechanical, engine bay, trunk and interior restoration of the car.
