Here is a very rare & wonderful example of an Austin A90 Atlantic Convertible in superb order throughout
Arrived with us from long term 15 year enthusiast ownership , having previously been displayed in the Leyland Motor Museum.
We have also heard from its custodian in the early 70's, Nick Channing, who kindly wrote to us I was surprised to see my old Atlantic in your advert. "I bought her in the early 70’s to add to my collection of 5 Atlantics. She was owned by Ted Parkinson of Blacklands Garage Hastings, who also owned a 4. 5 and an 8 litre Bentley. His father had had owned the Atlantic before him possibly from new or at least a young age. It had a couple of quirks, it was fitted with a Scintilla Vertex magneto which I still have somewhere and a tap for decanting petrol into a picnic stove. Glad to see she has been well restored"
.
This lovely Atlantic was subjected to a photographic, total body off restoration and rebuild, costing many thousands , and taking many hundreds of man hours to complete.
The bodywork is now in pristine condition, and the paint finish is better than new.
The car has been fully retrimmed in biscuit leather with contrasting piping, complemented by a matching new mohair hood and carpets
It also benefits from electric windows as the original hydraulic system was deemed uneconimical to repair
The Engine was rebuilt with hardened value seats and now resides in a superbly presented engine bay
As you can see from the photos, she really is in lovely condition throughout, and drives as well as it looks
The car comes with a boot full of spares and original parts , gauges, air cleaners etc
The car really needs to be seen to appreciate is condition and the standard of work that was carried out .
The underside is as clean as the top, and has been finished in body coloured raptor , which should protect it for many years to comes
