1963 Porsche 356B T6 Coupe 1600S CONCOURS - Best Available For Sale

A quite unique opportunity to acquire one, if not the finest example of the iconic 356 in existence today. This car has just completed (March 2021) an extensive and detailed complete restoration to its original factory specification and is presented is concours condition.

In late 1959 significant styling and technical refinements led to the 356 B (a T5 body type). The mid-1962 356 B model was changed to the T6 body type (twin grilles on the engine compartment cover, an external fuel filler in the right front wing/ fender and a larger rear window in the coupé). The result is a lightweight and nimble rear engine, rear wheel drive, two door sportscar that is both fun to drive and gorgeous in appearance.

The 356 ‘B’ s were the penultimate 356 followed by the ‘C’ was phased out in 1965 in favour of the new model, the 911 and the rest is history as they say.

This car was originally sold in the USA in January 1963, It was then in Canada for a period of time before being imported to the Netherlands, from where it was purchased to commence an extensive restoration.

The focus of the restoration was originality, the car is presented in ‘oslo’ blue (bare metal respray) with the interior trimmed in the ‘factory option’ red leather to give a truly stunning colour combination. The engine has completed a full overhaul as have the transmission, suspension and braking system.

The car is complete with copy of original Kardex, confirming matching numbers, with an original handbook, jack and toolkit.

Its current location is Northern Ireland where it is stored in a dehumidified environment as part of a private collection.
