Hi all,

For sale is my 1979 RHD Volkswagen T2 Devon Bay Window Project van. The van has sat in the garage at my parents for a long while and I just don’t have the time to finish the restoration due to work commitments.

All major panels to complete the restoration have been bought (with the exception of the sliding door) and are included in the sale. Work remaining is as follows, 2 x rear corner panels, nearside rear panel, nearside rear wheel arch, and all panels within the engine bay.

All rot sections in the chassis have been cut out and replaced, and the chassis is now solid. All outriggers and jacking points have been replaced along with inner and outer sills.

Both front A-posts have been replaced along with the inner front valance, complete front panel, and front deformation panel. Both B-posts have been replaced along with front two wheel arches and front two doors. Whole cab section is free of rot.

Nearside middle side panel has been repaired and complete nearside rear side panel has been replaced along with nearside rear wheel arch. Rear corner has been prepped for installation of complete nearside rear corner panel.

The 1600cc engine is included and the previous owner claimed it was re-conditioned 10, 000 miles ago but there is no receips to show this and I would expect it would need striped. I did drive it 20 miles to our garage when we first bought it, so the engine did run. Clock says 23, 000 but MOT certificates indicate it had 95227miles in 1987, and then 408miles in 1988 so milage will be correct if you add 100, 000. An engine re-build at this milage would make sense. Engine and gear box are currently sat on a pallet under the racking in the garage. We have a forklift on site which can be used to load parts if required.

There is still plenty work left in the project, however the van comes with a large amount of the parts needed to complete the restore. In need of somebody with a bit of knowledge and a bit of time.

The van comes with history documents and receipts for the parts bought.

If you have any questions or would like more photo's please get in touch and I would be happy to help. I have pictures of every stage of the restoration work done so far and would be happy to share these too.

Stuart Jackson: the details below

Thanks for looking and I hope someone can give the van a good home and finally get it back on the road!
