EBRO Truck - Full Mechanical Overhaul For Sale

Here we have a very interesting, and a rare Ebro Truck. We took the truck in part exchange from its long term owner in Gibraltar back in 2013 and it was always our plan to restore the vehicle back to its former glory. Eight years on, its time to market the truck for the first time, realising our workshops are too busy at present to even consider taking on the project. The truck starts, runs and drives, but will of course need re-commissioning. During the early 2000’s the truck was mechanically rebuilt by a Scania dealership in Algeciras, Spain. Work included rebuilding the diesel engine, new brake linings, rebuilding the axles, replacing the fuel tank , fuel lines and radiator. Prior to this, the body was restored and painted but spent many years outdoors and came to the UK requiring work to the cab and truck bed. Although the Ebro has been left dormant for many years, much of the hard work mechanically was completed and invoices are on file for lots of work. When in Gibraltar back in 2008, the Ebro made the front cover of Heritage Commercials where it was heavily featured in 2008. A copy of the article is with the history file.

Having had the mechanical overhaul, the Ebro was parked within Gibraltar’s HM Naval Base and served as a visitor attraction before coming to the UK in 2013. All duties were paid on arrival, and besides a fashion photo shoot with Joe Browns clothing brand, the Ebro hasn’t done much since arriving. The truck is going to need restoration work, particularly to the cab and truck bed, but it has massive potential and the basis of this commercial is very good. The truck is in LHD format, badged by Ebro in Spain. Ebro operated under license from Ford to build these trucks in their factory after the war. Spain had a distinct need post war to rebuild the nation and industrial vehicles were scarce. At the time, there was little faith in vehicles being manufactured in Spain so whoever owned an Ebro was considered rather privileged as they were driving something partially built in the UK to a much higher standard.

This is certainly an interesting and rare opportunity, and feel free to make an offer.
