Beschreibung:

Description:
The birth of the first Fiat Jolly can be traced back to the Italian playboy Gianni Agnelli. For his 82-foot-long yacht Agneta, he needed a land vehicle that was at the same time light, open and manoeuvrable in a confined space. As chairman of Fiat, he naturally had the means to realise such an idea. Aristotle Onassis, Greek shipowner and friend of large yachts, ordered three. And the little guy also became a big shot in the USA. Anyone who was anybody in society showed up in the basket chairs of the millionaire's Cinquecento named Jolly. The solvent clientele treated themselves to it like the third sailing boat and drove merrily along the beach. The car was shown as the "Jolly de Plage" at various vehicle exhibitions, including Turin in 1957.
Ghia is said to have built a total of around 650 Jolly variants. In addition to the original 500 Jolly model, variants were also built on the basis of the normal Fiat 600 and on other Fiat 500/ 600 chassis.
The first owner of the car presented here was Giuseppe Venturi, who bought a Fiat 600 from Fiat in 1958. Shortly after the purchase, Venturi had the car converted into a Jolly by the coachwork company GHIA. Afterwards the car was road registered for the first time, on 19. 05. 59 as an open Fiat 600 with 4 seats and the number plate RM350826. The second owner, Sansoni Pompeo, bought the Jolly in 1986 and in 2000 the car passed into the ownership of Maggi Maurizio. The last owner was the Italian Boccia Gianluigi. After his death, his wife Matassi Francesca inherited the Jolly and sold the car in 2015 to a Swiss dealer, under whose direction the car was extensively restored a few years ago according to photo documentation.
