The company was founded in 1919 by Gordon Francis and Arthur Barnett who after WWII focused on producing small lightweight commuter bikes and used the reliable, cheap to run two stroke engines from Villiers. Later they were taken over by AMC and the Villiers engines were replaced with AMC units.
The owner said the bike was purchased a couple of years ago and stripped down and rebuilt with new parts if anything needed replacing. It was then repainted and although road tested at the time it has not been used since, so will require the usual checks and recommissioning prior to use.
