1970 Land Rover Series 2a 88 SOLD

This is a genuine Land Rover Series 2a Station Wagon Maltese Grille with headlamps in the wings
Chassis number 31500676G makes this a Home Market 2. 25 Petrol of which they only made 782 over a 10 year period making this a rare beast!
They didn't sell very many Station Wagons as they had purchase tax on them making it a very expensive Land Rover!
Many people claim they have a Station Wagon but most are Hardtops that have been converted
In April 1969 the headlamps were moved from the grille to the wings for new lighting regualtions and the maltese grille was born!
FMM 962J was registered in Greater London on 25th November 1970.
Tax and MOT exempt
V5 document here and ready to go in new owners name.
Little is known of the early history but we have history from 2001 onwards.
In 2011 a restoration was carried out on the chassis and bulkhead and it had a general recommission.
The mileage today stands at 27, 176 and in 2000 it was 17, 132 so only 10, 000 miles in 20 years!
The restoration 10 years ago has stood the test of time well and the chassis is in good solid condition.
The bulkhead looks amazing and is in good order.
The paintwork has aged over the years but I rather like it as is, the bodywork is very straight indeed.
The original 2. 25 petrol engine starts well and ticks over very nicely. It pulls well through all the gears.
The brakes have just been checked over and adjusted.
If you are looking for a rare Land Rover that you can use immediately for dogs/ logging/ kids etc then this may fit the bill and you can improve over time if you so wish.
