Magnum Race Cars in Northampton, founded by John Robinson, built race cars in the 1980s. They produced a few Sports 2000s & some F3s (remembered best for once out qualifying Senna & Brundle with David Leslie). The company evolved into a specialised supplier to Formula 1 teams. At some point c. 1989/ 90 they appear to have been commissioned to build a batch of single seaters for a single chassis race series in the Caribbean. You can see them racing in Jamaica in 1995 on YouTube. - details above
The cars were spaceframed, pushrod suspended, powered by dry sumped Golf GTi 8v engines & using Hewland LD gearboxes. Constructed to a high standard, using a simple robust design, they shared various components like uprights etc with the earlier F3s
I have acquired a big heap of unused components from these cars including sufficient to make it possible for an adventurous individual to build up a car - either similar to the original specification or using it as a basis for something of their own conception
One possible package would comprise:
Powdercoated spaceframe chassis with integral steel floor
Pair engine A frames
Coolant header tank
Alloy water pipes
Cockpit bulkhead alloy panels
Bare dashboard panel
Gear linkage & gear lever
Steering column with QR spigot
Front & Rear cast alloy uprights - with centrelock pin, hub bearings & wheel flange collars

F&R rocker mounts
F&R anti roll bars
Rear cast alloy suspension carrier
F&R adjustable coil over spring damper units

VW GTi 8v head + camshaft - less valves
Magnum Race Engines cast alloy rocker cover
Titan 2 stage dry sump pump
Dry sump pan
Cast alloy adaptor/ bellhousing
Radiator + mounting
Hewland LD200 complete set of gearbox castings - No internals- castings will have damage so repair work required
Cast alloy upper suspension carrier

@ £2650. 00
Anything which is not listed above is NOT included.
Almost all of these components are unused but many now have surface corrosion due to 30 years storage
so building the vehicle will require an ability to restore & recommission where necessary. The package on offer could be adjusted to suit a buyers requirement - eg some may prefer to purchase without engine/ gearbox components & build
with a motorcycle engine.
