1958 Jaguar 3. 4 (Mk1) Manual overdrive. Registration 9415 MP

Cornish Grey with a maroon interior. Coombs style rear wheel arches, Cornish grey painted wire wheels and a louvred bonnet. In excellent condition throughout. I had the rear wheels specially built with a two inch reverse offset so the wheels fill the arches and the road holding and handing are also much improved. The front wheels are six inch wide Aston Martin wire wheels.
This 3. 4 was first registered in New Zealand on 2nd Dec 1958 and remained there until it was exported to the UK in 2016. I'm the only UK owner of the car.
Mechanical and cosmetic restoration by Peter Tripp at a cost of 75000 NZ Dollars in 2003-2005 to 'Mike Hawthorn spec'. Much mechanical work was done at the same time including work to brakes, steering, suspension, carburettors, fuel tank, fuel pump etc.
This MK1 is mechanically very original with original quick ratio Mk1 steering, Moss gearbox etc.
The engine, gearbox and body number all match and other notable features include a rare 140mph speedometer, red tipped needles and a low fuel warning light.
The Jag comes with a massive history file.
According to howmanyleft. com There are over 1000 of the five the variants of the Mk2 Jag (2. 4, 3. 4, 3. 8. 240 & 340) still on the road in the UK but only 17 remaining examples of the Mk1 3. 4 and 40 odd of the 2, 4. These figures aren't exhaustive but they give an impression of the relative numbers of survivors.
During my five years of ownership I've kept the car in perfect fettle. Work over these five years included a new clutch, radiator, steering box and all steering gear, poly-bushed suspension, electronic ignition, brake servo, brake hoses, master cylinder, clutch cylinder, shock absorbers etc, The most recent work (to the brakes, clutch and steering) was completed earlier this year by a Jaguar specialist (totalling £873). The photos are very high resolution taken with a professional camera so you can zoom in to see the condition. The car is kept in a dehumidified garage and can be seen at my home in Kenley near Caterham in East Surrey.
