1964 Rare Austin J2 Paralanian Motorcaravan For Sale

Austin J2 Paralanian Motorcaravan.

This is a wonderful example of the luxury touring vehicle available in the 1960's, and could have been yours for the price of a house!

The Paralanian was a motorcaravan designed for the luxury market. Central Garages built the Paralanian on new chassis from Austin, Morris and Commer in its factory in Parry Lane, Bradford, West Yorkshire. The early literature encouraged potential clients to purchase a Paralanian as a suitable stablemate to their Rolls Royce!

This particular Paralanian Motorcaravan CTC362B has been an invited guest of the fabulous Goodwood Revival main display for the past 20 years, it is a unique leisure vehicle in this respect.

This Paralanian MKIII being extremely original, never having been restored, has been maintained for continual summer use. Any worn parts have been replaced with new old stock items including: Brake shoes, wheel cylinders, bumper, lights etc, etc. and running with an unleaded cylinder head along with Kenlowe fan and electronic ignition make for improved current day running and the J2 is regularly used for touring holidays by the present owners.

The mileage when purchased by the current owner around 21 years ago read a believed genuine 32, 000 and has now just clocked over 59, 000 during its annual 530 mile round trip to Goodwood Revival.

It has recently been professionally coach painted and is ready to be handed over to its new custodian.

Being such a rare survivor coming to the market, the seller is only willing to let the vehicle go to a new owner who will store the Paralanian undercover as it has never been kept outdoors. CTC362B is believed to have had the addition of a protective GRP layer over the original canvas roof very early in its life which has helped to preserve the motorcaravan to such an amazingly authentic state.

It is rarely that a leisure vehicle with such provenance comes to market and the sale is open to serious enquiries only.

Offers in the region of £25, 000.
