Dodge Viper Gen 1 8. 0 V10 1992 Model Original Press Car Classic American Muscle Supercar

The 1st and Only Official 1992 Hand Built Generation 1 Model for the UK and the 1st One to Arrive in Europe

Owned by the Managing Director of Chrysler / Dodge UK a Mr. Richard Mackay

Used by Dodge as their Press Car for UK and Europe and Unveiled in the UK at the Birmingham Motor Show. As they were so Rare it was Known that People were Offering $100, 000 over List Price Just to be Seen and Own a Viper.

It May Honestly be One of the Most Photographed Cars of All Time.

It had the Famous Number Plate “WOW HOT” - WOW110T on it New When it was in the Press and it also wore the number plate A18 LTR, which is still on the car and comes with the Viper. As confirmed in communication with the Managing Director of Dodge, Dodge used a few number plates on this one car to make out to the UK press they had more than one car.

This actual Viper was featured on the Front Cover of Numerous Motoring Magazines in the 1990’s such as Top Gear, Performance Car, Car Magazine. I have Original Copies of these Magazines to Show.

Driven as a Press Vehicle on the Famous Historic Miglia Mille Rally, Where Jose Gonzalez the First Ever Winner for Ferrari in F1 was Pictured with the Car.

It was the First Ever Viper to Have a Hard Top Made for it. This Actual Car was Used as the Prototype for having the Dodge Factory Hard Top Manufactured in the UK for the Worldwide Market. This Car was then Pictured with the Hardtop for Use in the Dodge Official Brochures for the Factory Option Hardtop

It was Purchased by the Second Private Collector in 1993 at a Motoring Show where he Made an Offer to Dodge that they could not refuse and purchased it there and then at the Motor Show where Michaela Strachan was currently modelling with the car.

He went about to have it tuned by Hennessey Performance, the Legendary World Record Holding American Tuning Company in the USA. At the Cost of £30, 000 which was a significant cost in the 1990s, with the collaboration between Hennessey and famous car designer Steve Everitt they developed new bonnet louvres, new intake system and exhaust system to relieve another 50 BHP.

It also had a Hennessey body kit designed for the Viper, with new Front Bumper and Rear Spoiler, which was later used by Hennessey on the Venom 600, it has since been removed but is still available with this car as it has been kept in storage safely over the years. It also currently has the Black Multi-Spoke Black Viper GTS Wheels with Toyo Semi-Slick Tyres. It also come with the Original 3 Spoke Silver Wheels and Tyres, which are like Brand New.

The Body kit with Hennessey was done years before the 1996 Viper GTS was released. The GTS has the same bonnet design as this car. Which could well prove that this was the first ever prototype for what would become the bonnet design for the GTS model. The timeline would prove this, however I have not confirmed with Hennessey in regards to this.

It Comes with Folders of Service History, Email Communications from the MD of Dodge UK, Press Magazines, Brochures and Pictures. Included are a Very Rare Original Workshop Manual and Sales Brochures featuring this actual car with the Current A18LTR Number Plates.

This is the Very Rare Hand Built 1992 Model, which were built by hand by a team of hand-picked engineers and workers at Dodge’s New Mack Avenue facility in East Detroit, just down the road from the Dodge Factory.

Special Highlights on the 1992 model include, the aerial being on the drivers rear wing, Viper written on the brake callipers and the battery location in the rear boot area of the car.

The 1992 Models are the Rarest and Most desirable, as only 285 were made, 50% were donated to Universities in the USA for their engineering schools to work on – with the intention of inspiring young mechanics to join Dodge once they graduated. Obviously, many have also met their demise in the last 28 years due to their power and lack of electronic aids. As a point of refer¬ence, Shelby built just under 400 Co¬bra 427s in two years

The Viper was the Successor to the Famous Cobra. It was Designed by Caroll Shelby and Lee Iacocca, who was CEO at Chrysler / Dodge at the time. Lee Iacocca’s 1992 Dodge Viper number 1 sold for $285, 000 in January 2020, and this was the Number 1 first Viper in the UK / Europe.

This Viper has an Insurance Approved Valuation of £100, 000.

The Development of the Viper was created by Team Viper, which consisted of 85 carefully screened "car nuts" from within Chrys¬ler who volunteered to work on the project. Huddled in a warehouse-like skunk works in a semi-seedy section of west Detroit. It is this legacy that makes the Viper so legendary within the car world.

This Viper benefits from having been Serviced by Dodge Main Dealers for the Majority of its Life.

It was previously sold by Simon Furlonger Supercar Dealership, then in More Recent Years it has Been Owned by a Close Friend of myself who is an American Car Enthusiast. It was stored in his Private Collection for years and Meticulously Cared for. It underwent a Full Service with New Spark Plugs and Fresh Fluids in June 2020, which is less than a few hundred miles ago.

I Cannot Emphasise Enough How Truly Fantastic Condition This Dodge Viper is in, it is Absolutely Pristine, Concours Condition.

It comes with Factory Hard Top Roof, Glass Side Windows, Tonneau Driver / Passenger Seat Cover.

This Viper Would be the Star of a Private Collection, One of the Most Desirable Vipers in the World given its Pedigree and Heritage. Not Only was it One of the First Vipers Ever Made, Owned by the Managing Director of Dodge UK and Featured in Numerous Motoring Magazines. It is Like Brand New Condition and has been Molly Coddled and Stored Inside from New. Anyone Who Has Ever Seen the Car is Blown Away when I tell them the Age, as they think it is a New Viper – it is that Great.

It Ticks All the Boxes for the Most Desirable Collectors, being an 8 Litre V10 Engine and Manual Transmission. It was the Poster Car for Nearly All Teenage Boys Growing up in the 1990s. It Really is Loved by All the Public – Those Who Have the Pleasure of Seeing it, it Just Invokes Excitement and Thumbs Up.
