This Austin Healey Sebring Mk1 Sprite is a very rare car.
The official Heritage Certificate that we have obtained from The British Motor Museum shows that it was built in October 1959 as a RHD Home Market car.
In 1984 it had been off the road for a period of time prior to 1984 as this owner registered it with the DVLA and as such the V5 only shows two owners.
The DVLA allocated a 1963 A suffix registration number to the car as they did not issue non-age related plates at that time.
The current V5 shows that the owner who bought it in 1984 kept the car for 21 years until his death in 2005 when it was bought by another local owner who has kept it since then.
It has a Williams & Pritchard bonnet with extra side air vents fitted, wire wheels, front disc brakes, brake servo, chrome boot rack, Moto-Lita wood rim steering wheel, new battery, a removable convertible roof and tonneau cover.
Other things we have noticed is that it has a non-standard diff casing and alloy rear drums. The last owner believed that the engine and gearbox had been upgraded to improve performance but we are unable to confirm without further investigation.
The car is MOT exempt as it is over 40 years old and it will be licensed for twelve months from the date of sale for the new owner at no cost as the car qualifies for the Historic Taxation class.
The history file contains the current V5, the Heritage Certificate, a previous V5, a series of old MOT certificates and a number of invoices for work completed and parts purchased by the last owner. The current recorded mileage is 52637.
Prospective buyers are welcome to come and view the car in our Leeds showroom.
