I have decided to sell my part restored has been in my ownership since 1987, and i am the 3rd owner and it has covered only 57,000 miles(genuine and garanteed). I have all the original service books and handbooks plus masses of reciepts for new parts fitted over the years plus all the old MoT,s.i am a retired engineer so have looked after the car myself. Unfortunatly a few years ago i took the car off the road to replace all the manifold gaskets and studs/ nuts/bolts. Plus fit a lpg unit(cost £800) because of other interests and personal problems i have not yet finished the job. I have removed the seats/carpets and rear trim to replace both(original ) sills and tidy up rusty sections.also i have removed both a/c and water /oil cooler rads. Also i have removed the front and rear bumper assemblies/fan units /headlights/indicators/rear lights to paint/rust treat.i have made up 2 new outer sills plus reinforcement for the inner sills and new jacking points. Not long before i stopped useing the car i replaced all 4 road springs, dampers including the engine mounts, front subframe mounts. Although it is some time since the car was last used i have regularly turned the engine over manually.and kept the brakes free,(and all working including the handbrake) all the glass and chrome are in as new condition.i will send an extensive photograph file to any serious mercedes enthusiast restorer/buyer. My car also has a non date set number plate(northern irish)sensible offers will be considered Since placing the add i have done further work and intend re-fitting the exhaust(including a new balance pipe(£325))and re-furbishing the fuel pump assembly + getting the engine running again( with new oil and filter. I have also purchased a new rear window seal(£109)This SLC can be made like new with a reasonable amount of metalwork and a total re-spray. Since my last entry I have now started fitting the offside sill repair panels including new panels purchased from the SL shop. And please no more inquiries about parts or breaking. Since my last entry, i have continued to work on the car while we are under covid suppression. I have already had offers in excess of the £4,250 and am continuing the restoration until we are free of this pandemic so that i can realise the cars full potential valuewise. I am making a list of potential buyers and if anyone is interested still get in touch. If I wanted to break the car I would do it myself. and please no more stupid offers or timewasters
