VAUXHALL VICTOR 101 FC VX 4/90 - VERY RARE - GREAT VALUE !! SOLD (1966)
|The “FC” or 101 Victor was produced between 1964 and 1967. The VX4/90 version was fitted with an alloy head, higher compression ratio, twin carbs, stiffer suspension and more comprehensive instrumentation. The FC Victor had a poor reputation for rust and few have survived - “how many left” shows just five 1966 models left on the road or SORN so it is likely that there are only two or three VX 4/90 FC models left.|
This car is a 1966, FC VX 4/90 in grey. We took it in p/x recently on a more expensive classic and are selling it as good but requiring improvement to make perfect.
The mileage reading is 64,000 - the mileometer stopped a year ago but it has only covered a few hundred since then and it did just 200 miles between 1994 and 2013. It was subject to a restoration in 2013 - engine out, the brakes, suspension and steering were overhauled, the prop-shaft was rebuilt and electronic ignition was fitted. Other than new sills it has had just one small area of welding underneath and the underside is still excellent. The upper body also presents very well but there are some areas for improvement – there are some drill holes in the bonnet where badges have been attached, the “4/90” badge is missing from the boot-lid and there are one or two areas of imperfect paint. On the road this Victor drives well, the engine and gearbox are strong, it has good oil pressure, the brakes work well and it has an optional servo.
This Victor is a very rare survivor and attracts a huge amount of attention and admiration on the road. I drove it 100 miles back from the last owners house without any problems.
It comes with a substantial history file including original sales brochure, service book, new and old log-books and various bills. Ready to use with MOT until January 2017 and classic (free) tax. Great value so the price is firm.
Please call if more info is required. P/X considered.
