1971 Austin 1300 - MOT 1 Yr, 56k miles, VGC SOLD
He is a 1971 Mark 3 Austin 1300 and I believe he is the earliest Mark 3 left. He is in very good overall condition having benefited from a full respray 15 years ago and has only covered 56000 miles. His paint and chromework are very presentable. Most importantly he shows very little trace of any rust both underneath (bar some minor surface rust) or up top. He has had welding in the past which has been done neatly - there is a small patch on the floor in the rear and a small patch inside the boot (Pics on request).
The interior is also in good useable condition with patina, everything is there and everything works.
His engine is all original, down to the paint on the block and original spark plug leads. His engine benefitted from a partial rebuild approx. 1500 miles ago. The cylinder head was not reworked for unleaded so he still requires lead additive, a feature I felt just added to the originality (additive comes with the car). His gearbox is fine, and all gears engage and disengage easily.
He will come with a new outdoor car cover, an indoor car cover, spare service items along with period authentic books, etc - anything I can find. He has his original service book and many receipts gathered over the years. He also has his original BL keys (including the 'small' BL key) along with a second set of keys.
He is a credit to his previous owners and his future owner will not be disappointed. He is tax exempt being a historic vehicle and has a years MOT (As of Thurs 29th September).
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch. I am in Central Scotland but can organise transportation anywhere within the mainland UK at cost.
