Fresh from restoration having covered just a thousand or so shake down miles since the most comprehensive nut & bolt rebuild I have ever seen. The chassis number is clearly visible on the front left dumb iron.
The late owner of this car entrusted it to Elm down engineering & gave them carte blanche with an open chequebook to perform the transformation to the car we find today. The engine has been upgraded to 4 1/2 litre spec whilst being utterly rebuilt to as new. A huge photographic record of the restoration comes with the car along with copious multiple detailed bills minutely explaining the amazing works undertaken. You really have to read through the invoices in detail to appreciate the magnitude of the works undertaken. The car was stripped to its bare chassis which was then settled & painted to better then new standards prior to the rest of the work being commenced through 2004 to 2006.
The car has Vanden Plas style open touring coachwork fitted along with a Le Mans style extra large fuel tank. To the interior is brand new green hide to match the brand new British racing green Paintwork. The car sits on four rebuilt wire wheels shod with new Blockley tyres. A black mohair roof erects for inclement weather. Twin zip together tonneau covers secure the car when left unattended. The short chassis gives the car particularly pleasing lines.
On the road the car performs as on emight expect. Ample reserves of power allied to an overdrive unit allow for extremely fast long legged modern touring at speeds well above those allowed in these climes. A useful luggage rack is fitted to the rear. This really is a quintessential Le Mans style car with finned drum brakes all round, Fish tail exhaust, full quotient of instruments & the requisite lighting up front.
The car is thus ready for extended touring use with eye watering quantities of money having been already spent to put it into 100 point order.

This craftsman built body frame has just been rescued from some commercial premises which are about to be demolished. As far as we know the original owner of the business was a Bentley enthusiast who died some 40 years ago and this body frame has been in dry storage in the building's attic since then.
